These seasoned printers will share their knowledge of printmaking techniques and expertise in a dual presentation of both framed and unframed prints. As established Master printers, they will discuss various printing techniques, such as lithography etching, serigraphs, collographs, monotypes, photo-etching and intaglio, types of papers, inks and tools. They will also discuss what to look for when purchasing a print, as well as share their combined 50-plus years in the regional and national fine art print marketplace.

Michael Costello, printmaker and owner of “Hand Graphics” in Santa Fe, received his art degree at The Art Institute in San Francisco in 1981. He joined Hand Graphics as an
apprentice printmaker for, then owner, Ron Adams in 1982 and worked for 5 years primarily in lithography etching, monotypes and photogravure. In 1987, he purchased Hand Graphics and has since provided a premier workspace for some of the finest printers in the country. Hand Graphics stands as the most comprehensive privately owned printmaking atelier in the Southwest. This facility offers artists a relaxed, professional environment that promotes artistic creativity and technical excellence. Hand Graphics introduces new artists to new mediums as well as provides a workspace to veteran and nationally collected printmakers,
by over 90 artists, such as Carol Anthony, Earl Biss, John Biggers, Robert Colescott,
Emilio Lobato, Nathan Oliveira and Joyce Stolaroff.

Enrico Embroli, printmaker, painter, & sculptor, received his art degree at State University of New York at Buffalo in 1963. He is the owner and creator of “Creative Editions”, currently located in Albuquerque, since 1990. A master printer for over 30 years, Mr. Embroli’s work has been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally. He also divides his time between painting and sculpture. He is a regular exhibiting artist at Exhibit 51.
